I’ve done alot of bitching and moaning about how much I disapprove of the waste of money on the games. Just to be clear, it’s not the games, it’s all the money it’s costing to put on a huge party for a select few individuals. It’s also the fact that so many city, provincial and federal politicians and ‘officials’ are attending the games on our buck. It pisses me off. They should all be fired.
But I digress…
Last night Tracey and I watched the opening ceremonies. I’m proud to be a Canadian and I’m proud to have the athletes competing in our beautiful city.
Then we watched on TV as Gretzky was paraded through downtown to light the outdoor Olympic Cauldron… and we also watched it unfold across the water live.

Now how many people can say they can see the Olympic Cauldron from their living room?
Very cool indeed.
On a side note, it’s a tragedy to have lost an Olympic competitor during the games. Someone comes to compete and loses their life as a result of it. It shouldn’t have happened. Many of the competitors have stated that the sliding course is too fast. How could VANOC have made such a fatal mistake?

Hopefully we will have a clear day to take a picture where the rain doesn’t make the photo look blurry. Maybe next week…?
A siver and and now a gold……Go Canada Go!!!!!
I said get rid of the glitz and glam and I meant it. Use the 40 million dollar budget money for opening cerimonies and use it to improve the sport venues and safety…..nets on the sliding course!
Hi cpt. Jamieson,
I fly helicopters in Brazil, right now i’m starting to fly
ec135 at offshore opr, i’ve more than 2000 hrs flying bell206,
so then
i’m interested about fly helicopters on Canada,
i’ve lived in Vancouver for a year but I couldn’t start my flight lessons because I was too much young, but now i intend to convert my CPL into a canadian’s license.
I know that there are a lot of difficulties and even prejudice, but I believe that world have no borders, we are pilots!!
So mr.RJ,
Would you help me to get it??? I need to know where and how i can do it with less difficulty as possible, because you know that helicopter pilots are not the most millionaires in the world, very far from that. Can I count to you to take some doubts?? or learn some tricks??
thanks since now

If you’re looking for a school to do your conversion I recommend Heli-College Canada in Langley, B.C. They have trained alot of pilots from overseas. Their website is http://www.heli-college.com .
