Is it that time already?!?!? Geez, I still have vivid, unpleasant memories of last Christmas (of course I was in Ft. Simpson for Christmas and New Year’s so who can blame me for being extra grumpy last year?)
The good news is I’ll be home for Christmas this year.
The bad news is I’ll be home long after Christmas this year.
Seems ‘the company’ is feeling extra Scroogy this year. Lay-offs have already gone ahead and I’m sitting at home with no idea as to when I’ll be going on my next tour. All I’ve gotten from the boss is ‘well into the new year’. Hmmm… that sounds encouraging…
Can’t really say it’s surprising… many companies have laid off plenty of guys and alot earlier than the company I work for. The industry is really in the toilet this year. Alot of people, including me, are really hoping it turns around soon… or we’ll have to start flipping burgers for a living.
On a closing note, I’m posting a pic I took a few years ago. I was flying a VIP but, due to company privacy directives, had to conceal his identity.

Enjoy being home for a while Roger and enjoy the weather…..-40 or colder the last three nights with no end until Thursday.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!
Brutal Todd. Seems a bit early for temps that cold.
All the best to you and yours too Todd!
Merry Christmas to you and Tracey – sounds like a perfect Christmas coming up (except for the layoff, sorry about that).
Thanks Jean! Hope you had a great christmas and happy new year
