I’ve hit a another milestone in my aviation career…. 3000 hours PIC (Pilot-In-Command). I just managed to pass the 3000 hour mark last week when I was in camp. It wasn’t until yesterday that I realized it while catching up on some paperwork.
It’s taken 11 years since getting my license to get to this point.
In total, I have over 4000 hours, but I don’t officially count the 1000 hours of Bell 214 co-pilot time I accumulated as I never received the endorsement on type… but that’s another story.
Overall I’ve been pretty happy with my career but I didn’t think it would take this long to get to 3000.
But I’m not complaining… I’ve seen alot of this great country at all times of the year, met many great people and I’ve been lucky enough to have survived this long.
Here’s to several thousand more.

Congratulations Love! We will have to celebrate with a big sushi feast when you get home.
Like we need a reason for a big sushi feast? (But thanks just the same!)
Congratulations on reaching this milestone. I thought you may have been transferred down this way to fight the fires. Is there not any possible way you can find out if you can get credit for that 1,000 hours you did as a co-pilot. There must be some sort of appeal board? If not it’s still wonderful you have made the 3,000 hour mark. Good flying son. Dad
Yeah, I thought I’d have gone south to work the fires too, but no luck… so here I sit with nothing to do…. and making no money.
I’m not worried about the 1000 hours I can’t count. At this point it wouldn’t make any difference anyway.
Congratulations, Roger. Fly safe.
I couldn’t think of anything else that would be as good as sushi to celebrate :>) let me know if you have something else in mind
Hey congrats Roger. I imagine that it comes with a large raise-LOL-from the present employer of choice. BC is so desperate for machines right now they even have one of our 204′s working and another on the way! Boy, will they be disappointed
Congrats Roger…..you can have a 1000 of my hours if you want!!!! I don’t need them all LOL.
If it’s 1000 hours multi time then I’ll take it!
Congrats Roger!
