Ahhhhhhhh, I’m done…. almost.
Headed for home on Friday.
It’s been a long, bitterly cold tour. For over two weeks, it’s been near or below -40 C overnight. Most days the highs have only been -32 or so. Some days it hasn’t gotten above -40 C. One night I think it got to -48 C overnight. It’s been damn friggin’ cold.
Additionally, the company crew truck is unservicable. The company engineer gave me his jeep last Friday and took the crew truck to move some big stuff around. Over the weekend he forgot to plug in the truck and it was frozen cock stiff Monday morning. We tried and tried to get it going but to no avail.
Finally we towed the truck with another truck down to the hanger and pushed it in to warm it up. Still no joy. In fact, the battery went flat and the starter screwed. The starter has since been fixed stealing parts from another old starter kicking around.
Honestly I am doubting that failing to plug in the truck lead to its demise. I personally think we got some bad gas. Today we’re going to try changing the fuel filter and draining the gas tank and replacing the old fuel with new fuel… or perhaps it’s just time to get it towed to the town mechanic. We’ve verified we’ve got spark and the battery has been charged back up and cranks well… but no joy.
Ahh the joys of small northern towns.

Yay… you are coming home 2 more sleeps!
I’m sooooo ready to come home.
So, where are we going for sushi Friday night?
Same thing happened with my sons truck (block heater cord went U/S and with all the charging and boosting (with big winter boots on) the gas peddle must have been pushed and with fuel injected vehicles they flood immediately. We left it and went on vacation for 10 days and when we came back it still wouldn’t start. Towed it to the dealership where they told us about the cord and it being severly flooded. As far as getting it unflooded they talked about removing the plugs but I would call a dealership of the same manufacturer and ask what the procedure is. Something to try anyways, good luck!
tee hee… ‘cock stiff’ tee hee

@Todd – bloody Fords… wouldn’t you know it has a special spark plug and, according to the forums online, the plug breaks when trying to remove it. Sure enough, the engineer thought he’d try and remove the plugs. He immediately broke one and I think he finally realized we should get it to the garage before this gets even more expensive.
@Paul – I got a million of ‘em.
Ford = 4 letter f word….. (never had much luck with them myself)
Sushi sounds good, Honjin or TomBo? Do you want me to pre-order or are we going out?
Tombo sounds good!
I’m gonna be pretty damn hungry by the time I get in.
I hope that Sushi is your internet code for sex:
Honjin= doggy style
Tombo= reverse cowgirl
Pre-order= naked
going out= lingerie
Your last comment shouldn’t need translation!!!! HA!

Oh you know sex is on the menu… but I gotta get the sushi fix too!
They have these crazy new things called ‘phones’. You can actually speak to one another to make dinner arrangements.
Just thought you would want to know.
