So Much Going On

Posted by Rotorboy under: Uncategorized .

I haven’t blogged much since leaving Ft. Mac but it’s been pretty busy.

The view from our window will soon look similar as we’ve signed the lease to a new apartment in North Vancouver. We’ve rented a storage locker as the apartment is a bit smaller than our current one. We’ve started moving ‘non essential’ stuff to the locker. We move in the new place on June 8th. We’re looking for some suckers…. errr, friends, to help us move.

We’re trying to pack stuff we don’t need. The apartment is pretty messy right now; boxes strewn about. Oh the joys of moving.

Meeting up with Barry and Darci for tonight. They’ve come down to celebrate Barry’s and my birthdays (his is on the 11th, mine was yesterday). We’re going for dinner tonight and then spending the night at a hotel (courtesy of B&D). Of course their kindness, while greatly appreciated, doesn’t excuse them from helping us move next month.

My sweetie bought me a very cool ‘all-in-one’ remote for my birthday. The Logitech Harmony One replaces all your remotes, simultaneously turns on/off multiple items and is all programmable via your computer. It features a touch screen and recharging cradle. It’s pretty fricken sweet. We were in The Source a few months ago and just happen to see these funky remotes. The salesman told us about them and I thought they were pretty cool. I never imagined Tracey would get me one. Thanks hon!

On the long list of toys I want, the next item I’m focusing on is an A/V receiver. Hell, we don’t even have a decent TV and I’m wanting a full 7.1, HDMI a/v receiver. I’m tired of having some decent speakers but no way to fully enjoy the surround sound goodness.

So, now I’m on the hunt for a Pioneer VSX-9120TXH.

Gotta go… drooling.

Belated happy Birthday! Sounds like a good time. Glad you found a place.

Hi Roger,

Sorry we could not make it to your dinner - happy belated. We were toasting you as we drifted back from Mexico to San Diego and gorging ourselves while on the cruise ship! I will let you know if I hear of any places for rent closer to civilisation!

Rachel :-)

Thanks Jean!

Not a problem Rach. Hope you guys are having a great time in Mexico!
We’ll have to get together after we get settled into our new place!

Hey Roger, Long time. Sorry I didn’t back to you about the comment you made on the cartoon I made. I wasn’t sure how to answer it at first, then time marched onward. I was poking fun at my niece, in which the cartoon portrays.

So you are moving. Wow, over to North Van. Hope it goes smooth. I’m still nestled right in Fort Langley–no plans on moving in the near future.

I did my rate-flight at Langley a couple of weeks ago. I went over to Chilliwack and I was actually behind eight aircraft that day when I wanted to do some touch & goes there. I headed back after only two circuits, there was just too much traffic to do any recreational flying that day. I thought real hard about wanting to fly a helicopter at that point….hovering would have been cool.

Anyway, keep in touch.
